Overview

The Data Solutions Project Manager role is with the Bureau of Meteorology. The role is ongoing and located in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Perth or Sydney. The role reports to the Manager, National Security and Space Capability Delivery (EL2).

Responsibilities
  • Deepen customer understanding and translate insights into tailored data-driven solutions and successful project outcomes.
  • Bridge external user needs with internal capabilities—aligning customer goals across NSSP's national security and Defence interfaces with the Bureau's organisational and technical requirements to deliver integrated, fit-for-purpose and cost-effective data solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and NSSP leadership to deliver customer solutions aligned with NSSP operations and the Bureau's strategic goals, embedding governance, ensuring data security and compliance, and driving performance optimisation.
  • At times, lead cross-disciplinary solutions or coordinate and oversee integration activities across various Bureau specialist areas; work in an Agile fashion to incrementally build and demonstrate concepts that point towards solutions.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of NSSP's role to support its national security and defence stakeholders, through proactive engagement to anticipate and accommodate future developments as data and technologies evolve.
Qualifications
  • Mandatory: Demonstrated experience in project management in science and information technology domains with a qualification in project management.
Compensation

Base pay range: A$135,402.00/yr - A$152,073.00/yr. The range is provided by Bureau of Meteorology; actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
