About the role:

Our Mitre 10 Katoombastore is seeking an outgoing and knowledgeable individual to join the Trade yard team. The is a generalist position with a wide range of tasks including but not limited to; working in the trade yard, pick pack orders, truck loading & unloading, stock replenishment and general cleaning.

As part of the inclusive team, you'll play a vital role in fostering a collaborative environment and shaping our customers' experiences. You are approachable with a positive attitude and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

This role will start as a 3-month casual working a roster of 24 hours per week, with the view of an ongoing part time arrangement.

What you will be doing:

  • Physical work with some heavy lifting required
  • Loading & unloading of trucks
  • Stock control ensuring all deliveries are accurate and checked as per company policy
  • Ensuring health and safety of all fellow staff, customers and contractors
  • Provide accurate deliveries on time, with a high focus on customer service
  • Serving customers in the trade yard, helping them with orders, and providing them with fast, efficient service.
  • Picking orders to be sent out on delivery trucks
  • Putting away stock, mainly timber and associated products
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, both within a team and individually
  • A focus on exceptional customer service and safety

What you will bring:

  • Current Forklift licence is an advantage
  • Timber & hardware product knowledge preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and unsupervised
  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload to effectively meet deadlines
  • Must be physically fit and able to be on your feet all day
  • An eye for detail and a sense of urgency
  • Flexibility to work across the 5 days of the week which may include the occasional Saturday mornings
