Regional Development Australia Peel has recently established the Mandurah Universities Centre (MUC) and is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the role of Student Services Officer. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting impact on tertiary education access in Western Australia's Peel region.

MUC is an innovative education hub established under The Suburban University Study Hubs Program (Department of Education) dedicated to improving access to tertiary education for underrepresented and disadvantaged students. We provide state-of-the-art study facilities and comprehensive support services in a community-driven environment.

The Student Support Officer assists in managing the operations of MUC, positioning the Centre strategically as a key tertiary education stakeholder in the region, fosters a strong student community environment for users and assists growth and development of the Centre.

As the Student Support Officer, you will:

  1. Deliver study support, pastoral care, and technology assistance to students
  2. Facilitate study skills sessions and workshops
  3. Assist students with tertiary enrolment procedures
  4. Manage student registration and induction processes
  5. Maintain Centre facilities and ensure operational excellence
  6. Proactively develop initiatives to build student participation and success
  7. Foster a safe and inclusive student community environment

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in the provision of tertiary academic services and student support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the Centre effectively with regional stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills to manage conflicting priorities and student needs
  • Current unrestricted Driver's Licence

Special Conditions

  • All staff appointed to positions with Mandurah Universities Centre are required to provide a Police Clearance and maintain a Working With Children Check
