Job summary

The primary focus of the role is program management of the wider design, construction and commercial functions as it relates to the approval of major expansion construction projects throughout the APAC region. The role requires effective communication, partnership, influence and stakeholder engagement across time zones, geographic locations and cultural nuances.

This is a newly created role during a time of growth for Equinix in APAC. Interviews are planned from Monday, August 18th, with applications closing Friday, August 29th.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the coordination of construction, design and commercial functions through the pre-construction process, providing governance around peer/onward reviews and culminating in business case approval.
• Define business needs and strategy with Corporate Development and local businesses; manage project pipeline.
• Create scalable processes to track progress toward on-time project delivery and deliverables required for business case approval gateways.
• Schedule activities and track project deliverables on a project-by-project basis, including development of business cases.
• Organize communications with stakeholders (design, construction, commercial, external consultants, contracting partners, asset management, real estate, legal) and serve as the reference point for the team.
• Collaborate with Construction Managers, Design Managers and the Commercial Manager to ensure alignment and optimize projects; coach/train teams for efficient approval processes.
• Support due diligence, site selection and acquisition efforts; prepare key deliverables for senior management presentations as part of business case approvals.
• Conduct project schedule reviews with construction managers and senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and develop best practices, including:
  • Capture and disseminate Lessons Learned
  • Oversee KPI management and reporting at regional (and potentially global) levels
  • Assist with software selection and implementation for global process optimization
• Assist training and development of in-house teams on project management methodologies and best practices.
• Report status, successes, challenges and key activities to senior management.

Qualifications, key skills & attributes

• Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, business, financial or related field.
• 7+ years of project delivery experience, preferably in data center development, with design and construction experience preferred.
• Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with internal staff, external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders; regional experience highly regarded.
• Detail-oriented with accurate input and proofreading skills; able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong business acumen, commercial outlook, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong sense of accountability, ownership and urgency.
• Proficient IT skills, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project/Primavera or equivalent.
• Ability to travel within APAC as needed.
