About the role:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and enhancing our backend systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance while working with cutting-edge technologies. If you are a skilled problem-solver with a passion for building efficient and robust software, we'd love to hear from you. This position is available in Perth or Sydney.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET or Scala.
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
  • Implement and optimise automated testing frameworks to ensure the highest level of code quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and QA engineers, to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, driving innovation within the team.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

About You:

Whilst previous experience in a similar position is essential, equally important will be your demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Strong experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Additional Experience:

Preferred but not mandatory includes:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures or messaging systems like Kafka.
