Sedgman are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Process Engineering team in Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Process plant layouts including piping and pumping, 3D modelling and detailed engineering drawings from conceptual sketches through to detailed design, under the direction of Lead Drafter or Lead Engineer.
- Contribute technical and design assistance to provide engineering design solutions in consultation with Lead Drafter or Lead Engineer.
- Demonstrate high standard of personal safety and safe design practices.
- Ensure drafting and review processes are completed. Review drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with Sedgman Standards. Execute checking of design drawings and participate in squad checks as directed.
- Ensure project time and cost are met - monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements and review compliance with project execution plan (schedule) and client expectations.
- Support the continuous improvement of design systems used by the organisation and investigate new drafting techniques and drafting equipment and recommend changes to standard practices.
What are we looking for?
- Effective team player.
- Ability to liaise with other disciplines within the organisation.
- Engineering Advanced diploma/Associate degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in design/consultancy/operational environment.
- 3D modelling using AutoCAD, Advance Steel / Prosteel, Inventor, Navisworks, or similar package experience.
- Mining and heavy industry experience would be highly advantageous.
