Join the teamWe have an exciting opportunity for an innovative Product Designer – Technologist to create coded design system components, driving experimentation and optimization of Kmart's digital experiences. This role involves designing customer-centric components, partnering with engineers for deployment, and translating customer needs into scalable solutions. You will bridge design and technology to create seamless user experiences with high-quality, efficient code.
What you'll be doing- Design and build coded design system components that solve customer problems, enhance engagement, and support business outcomes.
- Lead the creation and launch of experiments using the design system for quick iteration and testing.
- Advance our modern design approach, ensuring the design system supports innovation, automation, and efficiency.
- Develop and implement our design system in code.
- Embed our design system within teams, fostering expertise with Product and IT teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive designs.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and meet user needs.
- Manage prototyping and iteration to evolve designs rapidly.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
We seek a forward-thinking Product Designer – Technologist skilled in design engineering and automation, proficient with tools like Figma, Storybook, and Knapsack. Experience managing design systems with no-code platforms and generative UI technologies is desirable.
Additional qualifications include:
- Qualifications in Commerce, Computer Science, Digital Design, or similar.
- Expertise in interaction design, rapid prototyping, A/B testing, and developing accessible, responsive applications.
- Understanding of modern development practices such as Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking, and related technologies (A/B testing platforms, git, es-lint, jest, node).
- Strong stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams.
