The Role

The Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation, and serving of resident meals.
  2. Providing care and support aligned with residents' preferred routines, with a focus on:
  • Meal choices and individual nutrition
  • Consideration of allergies and food intolerances
  • Enhancing the overall dining experience
  • Assisting residents with meal selection and timing preferences
  • Preparing and setting up dining areas to meet individual needs
  • Engaging with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
  • Using empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining environment
  • Promoting resident choice and dignity
  • Maintaining dining areas and providing meal service tailored to preferences
  • Maintaining accurate nutrition and diet records
  • Supporting food preparation in accordance with safety standards and frameworks
  • Assisting with kitchen stock management
Supporting residents' nutrition and dining experience with compassion and professionalism.To be successful, you will have:
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • A compassionate and caring attitude
  • Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded)
  • Willingness to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Reliability and flexibility in shifts
  • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Valid Australian working rights (e.g., Passport, Birth Certificate)
  • Police check clearance
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Check prior to start (costs refunded)
  • Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination
