Job Description

About the Team & Role

The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing critical topics such as Incident Management, Problem Management, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore from a database perspective.

Requires expertise in SAP HANA Database administration.

Additional experience with ASE/DB2 is welcome.

Responsibilities include installation, upgrades, performance tuning, security management, and high availability strategy implementation.

Experience working independently in large-scale production environments.

Willingness to work in shifts/on-call as per business needs.

Contributing to automation, scripting, and documentation of daily operations.

Candidate should be ready with minimal onboarding, ideally within 4 weeks.

Note: SAP Basis candidates with minimal HANA DB exposure are not suitable for this role

Over 9+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in a global operations team, primarily on SAP HANA and ASE platforms. Experience with other database technologies is also valuable.

Proven operational experience and on-call support experience.

Involvement in incident and problem management, high availability, disaster recovery, backup & restore.

Experience with automation tools, scripting, and process optimization.

Database installation, upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation.

Expertise in system performance tuning, security, backup and recovery strategies, system copying, high availability, disaster recovery, export-import, and replication.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable but not essential.

Certifications in database platforms, project management (PMP), and ITIL are a plus.
