ABOUT PERTH OFFICE

South32's Perth office is based in the heart of the CBD and is a modern, for-purpose workplace designed to foster collaboration, innovation and performance. The office houses key functions including Human Resources, Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, Commercial, Technical, Legal and External Affairs. Our office is conveniently located a short five-minute walk from the Perth Underground and Elizabeth Quay Train Stations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a 12-month fixed-term position. We're looking for an experienced tax professional to join our Perth-based tax team. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting strategic advisory initiatives, ensuring tax compliance and managing reporting obligations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Tax - Australia, key responsibilities include but aren't limited to :

Preparation of tax advice on Australian income tax and indirect tax matters and projectsReview and lodgement of corporate income tax and indirect tax obligations for Australian operations and corporate entitiesLead tax reporting excellence through monthly income tax accounting positions, ensuring stakeholders receive comprehensive and accurate tax informationAssistance with adhering to tax revenue authority compliance activity including reviews, audits and litigations

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following :

Proven experience that helps you understand the business context behind the numbers and make meaningful contributions from day oneComfortable navigating complex tax concepts and can apply this knowledge practically to support business operationsProficient with SAP, Excel, and other key platforms, making you efficient and effective in managing data and processesSeasoned professional with substantial experience with at least 7 years in large corporate or professional services environments where you've developed your expertise and business acumenNatural attention to detail, whereyou instinctively catch the small things that matter and take pride in delivering accurate, reliable work that others can depend onCombine technical expertise with practical business sense, making you someone who can both execute tasks and contribute to broader team success

Qualifications for this position are :

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or LawCA / CPA or equivalent accounting qualification
