Overview

The Program Lead for Transport Supply Chain is responsible for leading assigned projects and initiatives that arise from Industry Skills Australia's annual Workforce Plans and any additional or related Commonwealth government or industry directives assigned to the organisation.

This portfolio of projects forms the Transport Supply Chain Program of Work, designed to address critical workforce development needs across related industry sectors and respond to strategic national priorities including building a world-class supply chain workforce to increase productivity, create better jobs, and build opportunities for individuals and communities.

This broad and exciting role manages a portfolio of projects to ensure on-time delivery to scope and budget. As industry challenges and national priorities evolve, the assigned Program of Work will adapt to changing needs, requiring agile, innovative, and evidence-based leadership.

Domestic travel is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Transport Supply Chain Program of Work in alignment with the organisation's Workforce Plans and strategic priorities

Ensure timely and efficient delivery of multiple concurrent projects through disciplined planning, coordination, and performance monitoring.

Monitor project milestones and financials, providing corrective action where needed to maintain alignment with strategic objectives and approved budgets

Engage stakeholders across industry proactively with a customer-focused approach

Lead initiatives to design, capture and develop evidence-based stakeholder intelligence to inform projects and initiatives.

Represent ISA at high level forums and policy discussions.

Provide strategic advice and reporting to the GM, Operations and Executive Leadership Team.

About You

An experienced Project Manager with outstanding communication skills with a strong background in managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder programs within transport supply chains, infrastructure, or adjacent sectors

Deep understanding of workforce development challenges and opportunities within highly regulated, safety-critical environments

Proven experience in project portfolio management, including budgeting, procurement, and contract management

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Proactive attitude to troubleshooting and problem solving.

High level of attention to detail in developing, editing, and reviewing documents.

Knowledge of, or experience in, the transport and logistics, aviation, rail, or related sectors.

Sound knowledge of the Australian Vocational Education and Training system.
