Our Homelessness Systems and Partnerships team partners with the specialist homelessness sector and works more widely across government and the community to improve outcomes for people who are experiencing, or who are at risk of, homelessness.

The Senior Project Officer will manage strategic projects and policies including preparation of high quality and evidence-based advice to senior executives and Ministers. Build effective working relationships across DHS and with the wider homelessness sector in South Australia. Be outcomes driven and actively engage in a team culture of curiosity, inclusion and collaboration. Using your well-developed communication and interpersonal skills you will work with a dedicated team who together with our sector partners, work to achieve improved system and client outcomes. A strong background in project management, policy development, engagement, evaluation and experience in the homelessness sector will be highly regarded.

The Senior Project Officer is a role within Community and Aboriginal Partnerships and is accountable to the Manager, Strategy, Policy and Reporting for:

  • providing strategic advice on housing and homelessness policy and service reform
  • identifying key policy issues to inform where to lead strategic reform projects and design and revise services for consumers experiencing or at risk of homelessness in conjunction with homelessness service initiatives
  • liaising with government and non-government agencies and key stakeholders to ensure strong relationships and effective interface between program development, planning and policy implementation.

  • Some out of hours work may be required
  • Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required
  • Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C)
