R & B H Alderson Ltd is seeking a joiner to join our team in Durham, Durham.

Position Summary:

Join our team of experienced and skilled tradesmen responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of woodwork, including doors, windows, fireplaces, and other custom woodwork. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working team player who is eager to learn and committed to working diligently for the company. This is an entry-level position that offers opportunities for growth into a full-time role.

Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of woodworking tools and equipment, including power tools, hand tools, chisels, saws, drills, etc.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand basic carpentry concepts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions (summer)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Required)
  • Willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures
Responsibilities:
  • Install woodwork and other custom wood items using proper techniques, such as hand sanding with chisels and cutting with power tools like drills and sawzalls.
  • Repair or replace damaged wood paneling or trim using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Install fireplaces or other large wood furniture.
  • Install new wood furniture or replacement materials such as vinyl flooring or countertops.
