About the opportunity

Bathurst Health Service is a level 4 referral facility with 100 beds, including a level 4 maternity unit with over 500 births per year and a level 3 special care nursery. The maternity unit uses an integrated care model with multidisciplinary collaboration across O&G specialists, GP obstetricians, midwives, social workers, physiotherapists, sonographers, dietitians, and diabetes educators. The service is expanding, including a new day assessment unit, private consultation areas, and modern birthing suites as part of redevelopment.

The total remuneration package (salary, superannuation, TESL and other allowances) is $365,000 to $400,000.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetrics and gynaecology clinical services within Bathurst Health Service and broader Western NSW Local Health District as required.
• Engage in clinical and academic activities including teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centred care.
• Participate in on-call rosters as required.

Qualifications & Selection Criteria

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist via the appropriate International Medical Graduate pathway.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
• Be available to participate in an on-call roster and respond on-site within a reasonable time.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (FRANZCOG).
