Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined Responsible Manager to join our team in Broome, WA. If you're a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you're the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.
Your role
In This Role, Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Ensure compliance with CASA regulations and other aviation safety standards.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective safety management systems.
- Act as a key liaison with regulatory authorities, auditors, and industry stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure all operational and maintenance activities align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and safety performance.
- Manage and maintain the organization's operational documentation, including manuals and procedures.
- Ensure timely reporting and resolution of safety incidents and non-compliances.
- Support and mentor staff to uphold a strong safety culture across the organization.
- Stay updated on changes in aviation regulations and advise on their impact on operations.
The Essential Requirement
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within aviation or the airline industry is preferred.
- Experience with General Aviation or Dash 8 Q400 aircraft.
- Ability to work flexible hours with rotating shifts and after-hours work.
- Expert computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and systems such as Air Maestro, Takeflite, Harmony Metron.
- Good working knowledge of OH&S, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and aviation industry standards.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and the ability to uphold a strong safety culture.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating operations team to achieve high performing outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Organisational skills to manage rostering, task allocation, and multiple operational priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a focus on safety and quality.
- Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC.
- Hold a current motor vehicle driver's licence.
- Valid Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate or ability to obtain one.
