Overview

Join to apply for the Safety Advisor role at Downer.

The role is based in Victoria or Tasmania with regular travel to the Melbourne Metro area, Shepparton/Wodonga region and occasional travel to Tasmania to support our operations. The position offers a blend of site-based and office exposure with a strong focus on fostering collaboration to achieve our Safety objectives and contribute to business innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Actively support, coach, mentor and provide technical advice to internal stakeholders across Victoria and Tasmanian Transport & Infrastructure operations.
  • Travel regularly to required locations based on location and support operations as needed.
  • Contribute to the achievement of safety objectives and drive continuous improvement.
What you'll bring / Qualifications
  • Certificate 4 Work Health and Safety minimum.
  • Exposure to civil road maintenance or construction (desirable).
  • ICAM Lead Incident Investigation (desirable).
  • Experience conducting audits and preparation of corrective actions and reports.
  • Participation in high level incident investigations.
  • Flexible with working night shifts when required.
  • Ability to positively influence change and communicate effectively with multiple types of stakeholders.
  • High level of problem solving with the ability to professionally navigate complex situations.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills that support report collation and presentation.
