City of Greater Geelong, Australia AusNet Services Ltd Full time

When you choose AusNet, you'll join genuine people working together, making Real. Progress.

At AusNet, we're the link between renewable energy sources and local communities, playing a key role in the clean energy transition and providing essential energy to every Victorian family.

Help us lead the way, while enriching your career with real people who encourage you to bring your best and make real impact – for your career, our communities, and Australia's cleaner energy future.

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of medium to large-scale power infrastructure projects.

AusNet's Infrastructure portfolio includes high-voltage transmission lines, distribution lines, terminal stations, large-scale renewable energy assets, and utility-scale batteries. These projects are critical to Australia's energy transition, and the Project Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of projects connecting to the grid, including renewables and large load connections such as solar, wind farms, and data centres.

This role is essential for supporting the growth of our organisation and the future of Australian communities, while also meeting safety, community, environmental, quality, schedule, budget, and regulatory standards.

You will play an important role building relationships and leading communication with a multidisciplinary team of high-performing professionals, including specialists in design, engineering, procurement, and construction, across multiple work streams both internally and externally.

The position offers a 3/2 hybrid split between office and work-from-home, based in Southbank, and is part of the Development & Future Networks team. Some site travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Monitor and guide workflow, setting operational and long-term project goals.
  • Actively support pre-contracts project development phase to produce commercially competitive proposals and drive AusNet results.
  • Lead the assessment and management of project and network risks and opportunities.
  • Risk management of the overall project from a project delivery, commissioning, and network perspective.
  • Financial management of projects, ensuring strong contract, commercial and financial risk management and accurate forecasting.
  • Resource management of AusNet and contracted staff resources to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets.

You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

License requirements:

  • Victorian Driver's License.
  • Construction white card.

Professional body membership:

  • Registered PM qualification from AIPM Australia or PMI, USA.
  • Professional Engineer Registration from Business Licensing Authority in Victoria (desired).
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Considerable successful project management experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary, complex power infrastructure projects.
  • Technical understanding of Electricity transmission and distribution projects.
  • IT literacy, particularly in MS Office Suite including MS Word, advanced MS Excel, advanced MS Project (SAP and Primavera P6 experience is desirable and advantageous).

A real place to belong:

We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives and diversity in our team. Engage and connect through our social club, family day, wide range of events or by joining one of our Employee Network Groups.

We believe in more than just competitive pay. Here's what sets us apart:

  • Flexibility: whether this is hybrid work, flexible hours, or part time arrangements, we'll work with you to help balance work and life.
  • Leave: more than typical personal leave and a generous 14 weeks of paid parental leave, with no minimum service.
  • Community giving: a paid day to volunteer with our social impact partner, Foodbank, or for a cause that matters to you.
  • Perks: we offer all the other perks you've come to expect like purchased leave, income protection insurance, novated leasing, corporate discounts, private health cover discounts and more.

As an industry in transformation, we're excited by the possibilities ahead.

So, if you're passionate about our purpose and committed to making real progress, bring your energy and join AusNet. Together, we can shape a new way forward.
