What To Expect

We are seeking a Logistics Yard Coordinator to oversee the management of the Perth logistics yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of yard operations, including facilities management, vehicle movements, maintaining accurate inventory control, and personnel supervision within agreed timeframes while balancing costs & service. The role involves communicating with multiple departments and third parties while managing a large volume of vehicles on site.

A key aspect of this role is ensuring the safety and security of the yard, personnel, and cargo through the development and implementation of effective safety protocols and security measures. This role requires being on your feet and working outdoors in all weather conditions for a significant portion of each day.

What You'll Do

  1. Optimize space utilisation and workflow efficiency.
  2. Act as a dedicated point of contact for logistics activities to both internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Supervise and maintain a team of yard personnel, ensuring all personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  4. Work closely with 2PL and 3PL vendors to ensure seamless integration of yard operations and overall business operations.
  5. Ensure Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), First Aid, and other company documentation and equipment are relevant and up to date, in consultation with the EHS & Security team.
  6. Monitor, record, and report damage claims to relevant stakeholders.
  7. Analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions quickly.
  8. Work closely with the Tesla Logistics team, on-site and remotely, to plan and track the shipment of vehicles.
  9. Develop collaborative relationships and communicate relevant information across all levels of the organisation and 3PL partners.
  10. Work within a Transport Management System to book vehicle transport and maintain data integrity when necessary.
  11. When required, provide support and guidance to other logistics roles within the Australia & New Zealand region.
  12. Ensure the warehouse and yard are maintained, kept clean, and organised, coordinating with various organisations for any works on the site.

What You'll Bring

  1. Proven experience in yard management or facilities management preferred.
  2. Computer/mobile phone-savvy with the ability to work with in-house logistics software(s).
  3. Ability to work under high pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Ability to work with little supervision but within a team environment.
  5. First Aid training would be advantageous but not essential.
  6. Good physical fitness—large amounts of walking required, in all weather conditions.
  7. Must hold a full local Driver Licence with an excellent and safe driving history.
  8. Administrative and automotive experience required.
