Compliance Specialist, ANZ

Your Position

You will report directly to the Compliance Director for APAC CLS with line to the Global Head of Compliance CLS and be responsible for ensuring risk and compliance with relevant legal, regulatory requirements, and in-house policies for Australia and New Zealand. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Act as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer ("MLRO") for CSC Australia and CSC New Zealand entities.
  2. Provide independent, sound risk & compliance advice and support on client acceptance based on company and group policies, as well as local legislation, rules, and industry practices.
  3. Liaise with local regulators.
  4. Conduct risk & compliance monitoring regularly, including client entity reviews, transaction monitoring, processing & clearance of suspicious hits, and thematic reviews.
  5. Liaise with and respond to Internal Audit inspections or inquiries.
  6. Conduct risk & compliance investigations related to incidents, complaints, or administrative issues as required.
  7. Provide risk & compliance induction to new staff and ongoing training to existing staff.
  8. Prepare relevant risk & compliance management reports and information.
  9. Participate in ad hoc risk & compliance projects.

Your Profile

  1. Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of compliance experience.
  3. Solid experience managing risk & compliance frameworks according to regulatory and statutory requirements.
  4. Preferably experienced in trust, corporate, fund administration services, or the financial industry.
  5. Sound knowledge of local regulations in Australia and New Zealand, including AML qualifications (ACAMS or equivalent).
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and effectively with stakeholders.
  8. Proficient in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
  9. Independent, meticulous, proactive, attentive to detail, self-motivated, communicative, eager to learn, and capable of handling new challenges.
