About the opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree, commencing their third year in 2026 specialising in Sport and Recreation, Town Planning, Social Sciences or Community Development who will commit to a two-year, part-time role (14 hours per week). This amazing opportunity offers you valuable work experience and assistance with your university tuition fees.
Working within the Recreation Planning team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the development and implementation of strategies for recreation and community facility infrastructure such as cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, sporting facilitates, aquatic facilities and more whilst developing skills in research, community engagement and recreation planning practices.
About You
To be successful in this position, you must have:
- Enrolled in and currently studying a Bachelor degree qualification in Sports Recreation, Town Planning, Social Sciences, Community Development or other relevant degree qualification;
- Be currently studying and have successfully completed a minimum two (2) years, or equivalent, in the above-mentioned degree and satisfactory academic achievement in current undergraduate studies;
- Be able to demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritise work within an environment of competing demands;
- Have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel);
- Hold a current Class C unrestricted drivers licence.
Remuneration
Salary as per the Local Government (State) Award plus 12% superannuation
