Overview

Cleaner role at Penrith City Council

Penrith City Council is seeking a permanent part-time Cleaner to join our dedicated cleaning team. The role involves daily cleaning of open work areas, offices, kitchens and toilet facilities, replenishing consumables and managing waste disposal. It also includes scheduled deep cleans and other tasks as directed by Team Leaders. The successful applicant may be required to cover duties for staff on leave, participate in additional hours when required, and perform all responsibilities in accordance with Council's Health and Safety Policies.

Responsibilities
  • Daily cleaning of offices, open work areas, kitchens and toilet facilities
  • Replenish consumables and manage waste disposal
  • Assist with scheduled deep cleans and other tasks as directed by Team Leaders
  • Cover duties for staff on leave and participate in additional hours when required
  • Adhere to Council Health and Safety Policies
Position Details
  • Permanent Part-time, 15 hours per week
  • Hours: 5am – 8am, Monday to Friday (3 hours per day)
Essential Criteria
  • Tertiary qualification in cleaning operations or related area
  • Previous experience in cleaning commercial buildings and facilities
  • Experience in the use of specialised cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Knowledge and application of Work Health and Safety principles relevant to Cleaning duties
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to meet timeframes and performance standards
Salary and Benefits

Starting salary: $28.75 per hour, plus 12% superannuation and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
