Public Sector People are recruiting for an experienced AO5 Finance Officer on behalf of a State Government Department. The purpose of this role is to….. This is a temporary opportunity for 6 months + potential extension.

Role Responsibilities And Key Duties

As AO5 Finance Officer you will have responsibility for the following:
  • Assist with the preparation of management reports and budgets.
  • Provide support in budget analysis and forecasting.
  • Support the team in identifying and implementing process improvements within the finance function.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders on financial matters.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, legislation, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the efficient management of accounts payable by monitoring invoices received through the group mailbox, progressing them, and ensuring timely payments.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and a solid understanding of fundamental financial concepts. Meticulous attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to maintain focus while performing high-volume, repetitive tasks. Prioritization skills are essential for success in a fast-paced environment. Experience with SAP S/4HANA and overseeing corporate budgets is highly advantageous.
