Focus of the Role

As a Business Strategy Analyst, you will help shape the future of Telstra by supporting and contributing to long-term strategy and its execution. You will leverage an understanding of market dynamics to drive thinking on workstreams within a project, providing rigorous and accurate analysis in a complex and evolving business environment to support strategies and initiatives and enable informed decision making.

What You'll Do

Strategy and Finance - Strategy & Performance developing and executing Telstra's corporate strategy, including measuring and reporting Telstra's performance.

As a member of the Strategy Chapter at Telstra, you will:

  • Analyse relevant data to support rationale, assumptions, strategic considerations, and risk assessments in strategy development
  • Own your work using a top-down approach to problem solving within your team, while keeping the bigger Telstra and customer picture in view
  • Analyse and synthesise key data sets with a hypothesis-driven approach; assess business, technology, market dynamics and industry trends to support strategy development
  • Use strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to develop decision-making materials (papers, slideware, workshop preparation, scenario planning)
  • Collaborate with peers and senior project members to develop robust strategies aligned with Telstra's objectives
About You

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

  • 1–3 years of experience in Strategy Consulting, in-house strategy, commercial, or strategic finance roles
  • Strong foundational financial and commercial acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to break down and solve business problems with a top-down, hypothesis-driven approach
  • Interest in long-term strategic problem solving
  • Stakeholder management and negotiation skills
