Are you a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse looking for a new position?

The Day Surgery unit is a Day of Surgery admission Centre as well as a Day Surgery/ Endoscopy unit. There are 2 procedure rooms which are utilised primarily for endoscopy as well as minor plastics and urological procedures. Due to growth in our day surgery and endoscopy specialty, we are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis.

Sunnybank Private Hospital is an evolving facility that has provided care to the local community for over 40 years and continually embraces the highest quality of holistic patient care. Recently undergoing a significant redevelopment, our facility has new consulting suites, operating theatres, day surgery and endoscopy suites. The facility is comprised of 122 inpatient beds, 7 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms and an ICU.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of perioperative patients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the healthcare team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of perioperative specialist nursing care. The CNC provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports management activities including portfolio responsibilities.

As a Clinical Nurse Consultant your responsibilities will include:

  1. Provide expert clinical leadership and support within the endoscopy department
  2. Develop and implement best practice protocols and guidelines
  3. Facilitate staff training, mentoring and professional development
  4. Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient safety strategies
  5. Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements
  6. Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Authority to Work in Australia
  2. Working with Children check (if relevant)
  3. Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  4. Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
  5. Experienced in the theatre environment (Essential)
  6. Extensive experience in endoscopy nursing and/or gastroenterology
  7. Strong knowledge of clinical governance, accreditation, and best practices
  8. Previous experience in clinical education and training
  9. An ability to influence at various hospital levels, plan efficiently and effectively and show drive to achieve results
  10. Outstanding relationship building and communication skills
  11. Productive in a self-directed environment
  12. Able to communicate with people on a variety of knowledge levels
  13. Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
  14. Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  15. Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
