About the Role
The School Nurse plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of students and staff within Wyong Christian Community School. Guided by compassion and professional excellence, the School Nurse provides prompt medical care, manages chronic conditions, and ensures the safe administration of medication – all while upholding the school's commitment to nurturing each child as a unique creation of God.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should:
- Have an active Christian faith and regularly attend a Christian Church.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of WCCS, including the Statement of Faith.
- Hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent qualification).
- Hold a current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
- Demonstrate strong clinical experience in patient assessment, treatment, and ongoing care.
- Possess a valid Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one).
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm, efficient, and methodical in a dynamic environment.
- Have the ability to uphold quality, safety, and infection control procedures in line with regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude, with the capacity to show empathy, work independently, and manage multiple tasks under pressure with resilience and adaptability.
- Have high attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and procedures.
- Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and be open to adopting new technologies.
