About The Role

Located five kilometres south of Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Mt Arthur Coal is an open cut mine, producing thermal coal.

As the Civil / Mining Engineer working within a high-performance team at our Mount Arthur South in NSW, reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions and results.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  1. Utilise your design skills to develop rolling weekly excavator plans and schedules for the mining operation.
  2. Provide designs and any required design amendments to suit operational requirements.
  3. Coordinate plans and schedules and monitoring of actual progress with benchmarks.
  4. Assist in the management of the weekly dig/dump plans in consultation with the Mining Superintendents and Supervisors.
  5. Ensure implementation and compliance of the Weekly Plan and site Safety Health and Environmental standards to ensure safe and sustainable mine standards.
  6. Provide information to relevant staff to assist in the End of Month reporting requirements.
  7. Utilise in-house software and data capture software to run reports as required.
  8. Strategic planning, optimisation and monitoring of Drill and Blast activities.
  9. Continuous improvement initiatives and technical advice.
About You
  1. A Minimum of 3 years prior experience working as a civil or mining engineer.
  2. Bach of Engineering (Mining or Civil).
  3. Proficient in MS Office.
  4. Experience with CAD design software essential, cross training into mine design is available.
  5. Experience in planning and scheduling packages including Vulcan, Deswik, Spry / XPAC / XACT highly desired.
  6. Planning, design and scheduling skills.
  7. Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
