Driving Instructor

About the Role

As a heavy vehicle driving instructor, you will:

1. Train and mentor students upgrading their licenses across various classes.
2. Work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, professionals and career changers.
3. Ensure compliance with industry standards and our partnered RTO.
4. Represent Border Truck Training Services at seminars, team meetings, and events.

Responsibilities:

1. Travel to designated locations to train students.
2. Collaborate with fellow trainers and the office manager.
3. Work within rostered hours (typically 7 AM - 5 PM).
4. Attend work-related events and liaise with key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

The skills and experience you will need are but not limited to:

1. A genuine passion for sharing industry knowledge.
2. Industry experience with civil tickets or a willingness to obtain them.
3. Forklift training accreditation or a willingness to achieve it.
4. Cert IV Driver Instruction (TLI41222) – Heavy Vehicle. (We are open to applicants with car or motorbike accreditation who are eager to step into heavy vehicle instruction.)
5. Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
6. Flexibility and willingness to work away from home for up to a week at a time (accommodation, meals, and allowances provided).
