About the role :

We are seeking Carpenters at our Olympic Dam site to work in our site crew, carrying out general carpentry works and related duties safely, to quality and time specifications and standards. Successful candidates will provide Carpentry support and expertise to other trades and workgroups.

This role is offered as a DIDO role, working on a 13:8 roster.

Responsibilities of this role include :

  • Ensure all Carpentry works comply with relevant Australian Standards, BCA, Local Ordinances, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Understand and interpret drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Prepare layouts, cut materials, and assemble parts.
  • Erect framework and roof framing.
  • Nail fascias panels, sheathe roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding, doors, and window frames.
  • Repair and maintain existing timber, materials, and fittings.
  • Undertake 1st and 2nd fix carpentry requirements.
  • Complete formwork installation.
  • Execute work professionally and within timeframes.
  • Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements.
  • Use materials, labour, plant, and equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain a full tool kit for effective duties execution.
  • Perform administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
  • Operate vehicles, plant, and equipment properly.
  • Undertake other reasonable tasks within your skills and abilities as directed.

Skills & Experience :

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry.
  • Willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts on a 13:8 roster.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial maintenance and building.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Previous experience in similar roles.
  • Construction Induction (Whitecard).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Class C driver's license.
  • Willingness to work at other Ahrens Group locations if required.
  • Additional high-risk tickets and licenses are advantageous.
