About the Role

Hastings Deering is seeking a Field Service Foreman to join our team based in Townsville. This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday.

As a Field Service Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to field service technicians.
  • Ensuring safety standards are maintained.
  • Setting target hours for work and communicating with technicians.
  • Handling all field service inquiries and calls for the Townsville region.
  • Providing after-hours callout assistance.
  • Organizing parts, labor, accommodation, and tooling for field repairs.
  • Coordinating a team of tradesmen, offering technical guidance and assistance.
  • Assisting technicians with diagnostic and failure analysis.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Managing schedule changes and fitter availability during unforeseen absences.
  • Maintaining service trucks and associated equipment.
  • Working collaboratively to meet customer needs.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Trade qualification with significant post-trade experience.
  • Experience in mining, mining services, or heavy earthmoving industries.
  • Proven mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer skills; experience with AX is highly regarded.
