We're seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Controller to lead our finance function, strengthen financial performance, and provide strategic insight to support business growth. This is a hands-on leadership role where your expertise will directly influence the success of our projects and operations.

About The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead our finance team and oversee all aspects of financial operations — from management reporting and budgeting to payroll, compliance, and process improvement. This is a leadership role offering variety, influence, and the opportunity to make a real impact in a dynamic, growing business.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the organisation's finance function, ensuring strong internal controls and accurate, timely reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with project managers and the leadership team
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly BAS submissions
- Manage annual audit, insurance renewals, and compliance with all financial regulations and standards
- Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making and growth opportunities
- Foster a high-performing, professional finance team through leadership, coaching, and development
What we're looking for:
- CPA or CA qualification (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior financial management role
- Proven financial leadership, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Experience in the construction or electrical contracting industry
- Knowledge of project-based financial management
