Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Join Newmont Tanami as an Underground Diesel Fitter and become a key player in our underground maintenance team. Work with a progressive fleet in a modern workshop environment, supporting one of Australia's leading gold producers.

• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on a range of underground equipment including CAT haul trucks, R2900G & R2900XE loaders, ITs, Sandvik drills, Normet agitators, charge vehicles, and ancillary gear.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults to ensure equipment reliability.
• Carry out thorough inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely and in line with company procedures and safety standards.
• Work closely with the broader maintenance team to maximise fleet availability and performance.

• Australian Trade Certificate III in Diesel Fitting (or equivalent)
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve faults in mobile mining equipment
• Experience with CAT and Sandvik underground hard rock machinery (highly regarded)
• Relevant high-risk work licenses and certifications, including Working at Heights, Dogging, EWP, and Forklift (desirable)
• Must be mask fit ready to meet underground compliance requirements
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment

Working an 8:6 roster, you can FIFO from Darwin, Alice Springs, Brisbane or Perth.
