The Role

As the Nurse Clinical Coordinator - Mental Health you will provide high-level advice related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of client care in mental health.

You'll be working alongside the multidisciplinary Mental Health Access Team to provide patient-centred care in community and hospital settings, in line with the National Standards for Mental Health Nursing Practice. You'll also collaborate with the Mental Health Access Team Manager to ensure that the team is working efficiently and effectively and may be required to step in and relieve the Team Manager when needed.

About you

You're a dedicated mental health practitioner with strong clinical skills and a commitment to person-centred care.

To be successful in this role you'll have:

  • Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
  • The ability to meet the authorised standards required of a Designated Mental Health Practitioner in accordance with the NT Mental Health and Related Services Act (1998).
  • Advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in mental health or related areas, supported by strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to understand and apply professional knowledge to provide accurate advice and effective support within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience contributing to the development and implementation of local/regional policies, interpreting existing guidelines, and supporting change within the organisation.
  • Ability to apply well-developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that influence health care for individuals and groups.

Ongoing appointment is subject to attainment of Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry-to-practice in Mental Health or related area.
