Job Description

In this part-time, fixed term role, based in Richmond, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth care pathway for patients living with pancreatic cancer within Epworth HealthCare's cancer services. You will be part of the Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth's (JPCE) team and report to the Deputy Director – JPCE.

You will make an impact by:

  • Oversee the patient journey and support the planning and coordination of care and ensure ease of access and a smooth transition between points of care
  • Provide strong leadership and clinical expertise by educating, guiding and motivating members of the nursing team and multidisciplinary team to ensure patients have a streamlined patient journey
  • Facilitate and ensure quality patient outcomes are achieved within an efficient and cost-effective framework
  • Develop and implement suitable quality activities that promote evidence-based practice

To be successful in this role…
You will be a strong patient advocate with a compassionate approach. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, that demonstrate an ability to engage with the multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships with patients and their families / support members, as well as internal and external stakeholders.

You will have:

  • Cancer nursing experience – minimum 5 years clinical experience
  • Previous experience in cancer care coordination (desirable)
  • Previous experience in palliative care nursing (desirable)
  • Previous experience in clinical research/trials (desirable)

Qualifications

  • Registration with Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Practitioners Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post graduate qualification in Oncology
