Software Engineer

We're looking for a hands-on Software Engineer with AWS experience to join a growing engineering team and help design, build, and scale applications in the cloud. This role blends cloud engineering, DevOps, and backend development — perfect for someone who thrives on problem-solving, creating new solutions, and shaping how modern platforms are delivered.

Please note: this role requires 3+ years of professional/commercial experience so unfortunately will not be suitable for recent graduates, sorry It also requires permanent residency or citizenship, and can you will need to be based in Sydney.

What you'll be doing

• Building and optimising backend applications in AWS, with a strong focus on serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, EventBridge, SQL).
• Designing and delivering scalable, secure solutions that support mission-critical systems (including a large-scale cloud telephony transformation).
• Driving the adoption of modern engineering practices – CI/CD, observability, and automation – to improve delivery and reliability.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI use cases into cloud-based platforms.
• Owning end-to-end delivery: design, build, deploy, and support.

What you'll bring

• Solid experience with AWS cloud (essential), particularly in serverless environments.
• Strong hands on coding skills with .NET and C# - this is a hands on engineering role first and foremost
• 3+ years experience in a commercial/professional working environment
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of Azure Devops is beneficial.
• Understanding of infrastructure, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Ability to work onsite in north west Sydney 2-3 days per week
• Work on meaningful, large-scale projects with direct business impact.
