In Home Child Care Educator – Mitchelton, Brisbane

About the Position

We are currently seeking a caring, reliable, and flexible Educator to support a family in Mitchelton, Brisbane, caring for two young children (aged 3 years and 15 months) on a rotating shift schedule.

This role is ideal for a qualified educator who is passionate about early childhood development and understands the demands of working with families who work outside standard hours.

Position Details

  • Location : Mitchelton, Brisbane
  • Children : 3-year-old and 15-month-old
  • Start Date : July 2025
  • Hourly Rate : $37.96 per hour
  • Shifts : 7 shifts per fortnight (rotating roster to support a parent who is a nurse)

Typical shift patterns may include :

Early : 6 : 00am – 8 : 00pmLate : 6 : 00am – 4 : 00pmAfternoon : 1 : 30pm – 11 : 30pmNight : 6 : 00pm – 8 : 00am

Key Responsibilities

Engage children in age-appropriate play, activities, and routinesSupport daily routines including sleep, toileting, and mealtimesPrepare nutritious meals / snacks for the childrenAssist with light household duties related to child care (e.g., tidying toys, cleaning up after meals)Ensure a safe, nurturing, and responsive environmentMaintain clear communication with the family and Northern Rivers In Home Care

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following :

Certificate III in Children's Services (ACECQA-approved)Current First Aid and CPR (specific to early childhood settings)Blue Card – Working with Children Check (QLD)National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)Public Liability Insurance (arranged post-placement)Medical ClearanceCompleted Child Protection Training (within the last 2 years)ABN (This is a self-employed / contractor position)Valid Photo IDPRODA RA number (support provided if needed)Aged 18 years or overCommitment to child safety and child-safe practices
