Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia Healthcare Australia Full time

Company Description

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Job Description

As our Darwin Health Services Manager, you will bring a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by:

  • Leading a fabulous team of clinicians, overseeing the daily operations of the primary health care services we provide, including medical, nursing, mental health, and allied health services. This includes deployment and scheduling of your team to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
  • Developing and implementing healthcare policies and procedures to ensure compliance with national health standards and detention protocols.
  • Ensuring health services are culturally sensitive and responsive to the needs of diverse populations.
  • Identifying and managing clinical and operational risks, including the safety and security of healthcare delivery within the detention setting.
  • Liaising with detention facility management, external healthcare providers, legal representatives, and government agencies to coordinate services, building strong relationships with these stakeholders.

Let's talk about you

To take up this challenge we are looking to see a strong track record in people leadership from previous experience leading other clinical teams/health services.

As a qualified RN, you will use your experience leading a clinical team, guiding them through change as well as continuing to develop a team culture that makes our business a great place to work and learn.

Naturally, we are looking for someone who enjoys and has experience in managing relationships across a range of stakeholders across the detention facility (e.g., security), external healthcare providers, legal representatives, and government agencies.

You'll bring your passion for Primary Health care and be rewarded with:

  • A varied and rewarding career in a unique healthcare environment.
  • Discounted Bupa Health Insurance.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • A chance to work within a well-respected Australian organization with over 1000 employees, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
