The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Australia's leading public hospitals. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to join The Royal Melbourne Hospital ICU Research Department on a part-time fixed-term basis.
The ICU has a strong commitment to research and extensive experience in all aspects (site investigators, management committee members and principal investigators) of investigator-led and industry-sponsored trials (from phase 2 to phase 4) to evaluate ICU practice.
Responsibilities- The Clinical Research Nurse will ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to all patients involved in clinical trials and, where relevant, their families, in partnership with all members of the multidisciplinary and research teams.
- The Clinical Research Nurse will coordinate and facilitate research studies within the ICU.
- The Clinical Research Nurse will be supported by the Head of ICU Research and the ICU Research Manager. Will work within the Intensive Care Unit and report directly to ICU Nurse Unit Manager.
- The Clinical Research Nurse will be self-motivated and able to work independently while working closely with staff involved in research studies as well as key stakeholders.
- The ICU research department provides 24/7 cover. The Clinical Research Nurse would be required to be available to be part of the department's on-call roster.
Essential requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification along with AHPRA registration
- Post Graduate Critical care or relevant qualification
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in an Intensive Care Unit or other relevant clinical experience

- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed IT skills
- Self-motivated and directed, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on complex tasks with strict deadlines
