We are seeking two dynamic and knowledgeable Trade Sales Associates to join our Building Supplies team in Peakhurst. If you have a trade or retail background and are eager to bring your expertise, we would love to hear from you

Job Summary

The Trade Sales Associate's primary role involves assisting customers directly, completing sales transactions, and ensuring the accurate and secure movement of products within the yard, store, or warehouse. They also support the team in meeting and exceeding service delivery expectations. Industry experience is welcome, but we are also open to candidates new to the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the "Point of Sale" system to accurately record transactions;
  • Provide helpful service to satisfy customer inquiries, make sales, and process delivery orders, both in-store and via telephone;
  • Suggest add-on sales (suggestive selling) and contribute ideas to increase store or department sales;
  • Process and follow up on quotes daily to qualify, refine, and close sales opportunities, recording details in the quote register and Frameworks;
  • Negotiate product details and prices on quotes to close sales;
  • Complete and verify all paperwork accurately, following procedures as instructed;
  • Assist with preparation, packing, and dispatch of orders;
  • Assist with stock receipt, storage, and possibly operate a forklift;
  • Manage stock levels and liaise with suppliers as directed;
  • Maintain tidiness of the work area;
  • Stay updated on product knowledge and stock levels;
  • Attend industry trade nights for product training;
  • Engage in self-directed learning through Trade Net;
  • Ensure security of merchandise and cash from theft and damage;
  • Report stock damage, breakage, or loss;
  • Follow safe work practices;
  • Coordinate with other departments for order preparation and delivery;
  • Follow directions from team leads or managers and adhere to company policies;
  • Undertake personal safety assessments and adhere to lifting requirements;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.Key Performance Indicators
    • Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets;
    • Follow up on first-time quotes within 2-7 hours;
    • Maintain the quote register and frameworks daily;
    • Arrive to work on time;
    • Provide polite and professional service daily.
    Key Requirements
    • Team player willing to collaborate with colleagues;
    • Committed to excellent customer service;
    • Knowledge of point of sale systems is highly desirable.
