Melbourne, Victoria, Australia QinetiQ Full time
Overview

QinetiQ is a global defence and security company with 8,500+ employees in 50+ locations. We offer expertise in advice, services and technology-based products to solve challenging problems.

Robotics Specialist – Creator Space (University of Melbourne)
Bring your experience. Grow the next generation.

The Creator Space at the University of Melbourne is looking for a Robotics Specialist who is excited to share industry know-how and a passion for making with students.

This role suits someone in the early to mid-career stage who wants to do more than solve problems; someone who enjoys helping others learn, grow and discover. You will bring real-world perspective into a hands-on environment, guiding students as they explore robotics, electronics and making for the first time.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about building, tinkering, and creating.
  • Patient, approachable, and able to support students with limited hands-on skills.
  • Keen to share knowledge and inspire confidence in others.
  • Excited by the chance to learn new tools and technologies along the way.

In this role, you'll be part of a collaborative team fostering a safe, inclusive and creative environment, where students learn by doing, and you contribute to shaping their journey.

What you'll bring:

  • A background in Engineering, Design, or Manufacturing with some relevant industry experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing students.
  • A collaborative, curious and proactive approach to making and problem-solving.
  • Eligibility for an Australian Baseline Security Clearance and a Working with Children Check.

Apply now to bring your industry experience into the classroom and inspire the next generation of makers and problem solvers.

Why QinetiQ

At Creator Space, you'll have the chance to inspire, mentor and guide the next generation of makers and innovators, with cutting-edge tools and technologies in a creative and collaborative environment.

You'll also play an important role in shaping the growth of the service itself, helping us continuously improve, expand and innovate for the future.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold or be eligible for a minimum of a Baseline Australian Defence security clearance.

While applications must be made online, confidential enquiries are welcome and may be directed to Ruth Harrison – Talent Acquisition Specialist via email; rlharrison@qinetiq.com.au
