Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you prefer to work fewer hours (minimum 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

The table shows the preferred availability times during the week. We will schedule your hours within these times and give you 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. We are flexible if your available times closely match our advertised hours. Click here to read more.

Responsibilities include:

  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride.
  • Being knowledgeable about store products and services.
  • Working in various store areas such as service, picking, and replenishment.
  • Applying training to work safely, effectively, and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Making customer-focused decisions and delivering routines that meet customer needs.
  • Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understanding store performance and contributing to service, sales, waste reduction, and profit.
  • Handling products carefully to maintain quality.
  • Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
  • Occasionally accepting store deliveries.

Requirements:

  • A passion for delivering excellent service with a smile.
  • Ability to build rapport and ensure customers have a positive shopping experience.
  • Initiative and decision-making skills to benefit customers.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate openly.
  • Punctuality, good presentation, and being a brand ambassador.
