We have an exciting opportunity to join our Older Adult Mental Health Service About the Team Alfred Health's Dietetics and Nutrition Department provides an integrated nutrition and dietetic service at The Alfred, Sandringham and Caulfield Hospitals. The joint Nutrition Department is comprised of approximately 48EFT and 65 staff members. It is organised into 8 clinical streams and provides a 7-day service. Using evidence-based, patient-centred care it provides clinical expertise to Alfred Health's patients during their healthcare journey, including the prevention and treatment of malnutrition and the optimisation of nutritional wellbeing and recovery through tailored, specialised nutrition therapy. About the Role Alfred Health's Dietetic and Nutrition Department is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Grade 2 Dietitian to join their busy clinical department. The Grade 2 Dietitian will be responsible for the ongoing provision of nutrition and dietetic services to the newly located Older Adult Mental Health Service Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. The role works closely with Senior Dietitians to promote and develop nutrition services through teamwork, collaboration, innovation and communication. Student education, supervision of Grade 1 Dietitians and Nutrition Assistants and active participation in quality and/or research activities which improve the service delivery, physical care and mental health of our patients are integral to this role. Skills & Experience The successful candidate will demonstrate: * At least 3 years post-graduate experience in a hospital setting. * Eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia and the APD credentialing program. * Excellent communication skills, proficiency in nutrition education and basic computer skills. * Experience in aged care and/or mental health is desirable but not essential Benefits * Salary Packaging & Novated Leasing through Maxxia. * Flexible Heath Insurance coverage. * On-site car & bike parking. * Onsite fitness facilities at The Alfred. * Child Care Services at The Alfred.
