Consultant / Senior Consultant – Operational Transformation – Energy and Utilities at Baringa. Our OT practice is growing and we are looking for experienced Consultants to join the team. The energy market is in transition with decarbonisation, distributed energy, localised storage solutions, digitisation and evolving customer expectations driving change. This role focuses on partnering with clients to solve complex problems in Energy Retail and related areas.
What You Will Be Doing- Working on diverse projects that make a difference and contribute to communities as the energy market transitions.
- Collaborating in teams to design and deliver business solutions across the energy landscape, with a focus on Energy Retail; shaping and delivering core delivery on projects addressing critical business problems.
- Partnering with stakeholders at the forefront of the energy industry alongside market specialists to broaden your skill set and expertise.
- Examples of work include:
- Helping clients set their transformation vision, define expected outcomes, and articulate organisational-wide problem statements to shape strategic direction.
- Applying frameworks to analyse current systems and operations, synthesising data to make future-focused recommendations and develop projects aligned with that vision.
- Re-engineering customer experiences and delivering organisational efficiencies for sustainable, customer-centred outcomes.
- Collaborating with clients to innovate, identify potential new revenue streams and support delivery through trial development and execution.
- Demonstrable consulting experience in the energy industry, from management consultancy or internal consulting in an energy retailer.
- Experience working in transformation programs.
- Broad business transformation competences across capabilities such as: business architecture, operating model, customer experience, service design, business improvement strategies, operational excellence, data analytics and insight.
- A track record of working collaboratively with project teams to deliver actionable advice and support real change.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage directly with leadership teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, proactivity, self-ownership and ability to work with a good level of independence.
- A passion for energy with knowledge of trends and influences in the sector; knowledge of drivers of change within retail energy and regulated utilities.
