About The Department

About The Engagement Unit

The Engagement unit is responsible for the delivery of initiatives that support student engagement and re-engagement in education, training or employment. Each team contributes in different capacities to support alternative learning options for students facing challenges with their engagement in education at different intensities and for different reasons.

The Unit's Portfolio Has a Broad Remit Which Includes

  • Statewide student engagement initiatives and programs, including the ongoing implementation, oversight and quality monitoring of program delivery.
  • Regional youth engagement and case management services.
  • Policy, reporting and system guidance relating to students in contact with Youth Justice.

About The Role

As the Senior Project Officer, you will:
  • Be responsible for the development of projects related to student engagement activities.
  • Have the opportunity to contribute to a number of different initiatives that support students at risk of or who have disengaged from education, including supporting the delivery of the Specialised Alternative Learning Program.
  • Have excellent project and contract management skills.
  • Be able to identify and use qualitative and quantitative data to analyse project deliverables.
  • Have strong financial management skills.
  • Have an understanding of best practice in contract management or outsourced service delivery.
