Medical Assistant I - Women's Health Center

Summary

Participates with the care teams in Summa Health to provide patient focused care. Is able to maintain and adapt to daily operations, interpret and execute provided instructions, and work reliably with professionalism in a medical office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adaptability to daily operations and execute provided instructions professionally.
Qualifications
  • Formal Education Required
    • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
  • Experience & Training Required
    • One (1) year related medical office experience; or externship; or associated experience or education
  • Other Skills, Competencies And Qualifications
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team
    • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality
    • Ability to interact with diverse patient populations with understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
    • Ability to travel between locations within the medical group as needed
    • Ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease
    • For SHMG employees: ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire and maintain it
    • Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies
Physical Demands
  • Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently; ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended periods
Compensation and Benefits

$19.23/hr - $23.08/hr. The salary range is base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Hiring factors include years of relevant experience and location. Summa Health offers a competitive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, life, PTO, and more.
