Overview

Design Engineer – Electrical role at Pacific Energy.

Pacific Energy is an Australian market leader in sustainable distributed energy. Our purpose is to transition the world to a clean energy future. We deliver end-to-end renewable energy technologies and integration across solar, wind, battery energy storage and green hydrogen.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review technical or supporting documentation and technical specifications, including functional design specifications.
  • Support electrical design, change management and functionality development.
  • Perform engineering duties through the entire project life cycle (concept to commissioning), including engineering studies and reports, equipment specification preparation and selection, and schematic and wiring design.
  • Complete design reviews and drawing mark-ups.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, on budget, on schedule and safely.
  • Participate in design reviews – Safety In Design, HAZOP, CHAZOP, HAZID, CRAW and client design reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Commissioning Team on commissioning activities, including development of ITRs, ITPs, FAT and SAT.
Be this person / Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience in an equivalent industrial area.
  • Skills in project planning, budgeting, estimating, and cost control for electrical scope.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes involved in projects.
  • Strong experience with the design and selection of power generation and/or renewable equipment.
  • Experience in managing the requirements of technical persons in facilitating a project (engineering input and the management of engineering risk).
