About the Role

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), Community Mental Health Temora is looking for a motivated and skilled Adult Mental Health Clinician. In this role you will be responsible for delivering holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed care to people with complex mental health needs. You will be working closely with their families and carers. You will be collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and deliver comprehensive mental health care to the regional community of Temora and surrounds. The focus is on adults with acute, complex or high needs and who may be difficult to engage in effective treatment and support.

Responsibilities / Outcomes
  • Successful therapeutic engagement with adults experiencing, or at risk of deterioration of, a severe mental illness.
  • Better experience of care through integrated and coordinated service models.
  • Prevention of unnecessary hospitalisations through timely access to appropriate and targeted clinical care
  • Active use of a multiagency care plan for adults with, or at risk of, severe and complex mental illness, to help link providers across multiple services involved in their care
  • Improved support for families and carers of people experiencing severe mental illness
Who we're looking for
  • Hold a relevant Australian qualification as a Counsellor, Psychologist, Social Worker or Registered Nurse, or have a minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Be a confident / conscientious team player whose values align with NSW Health Core values – Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment
  • Have an in-depth understanding of Youth Mental Health services in a curious and empathetic way
  • Demonstrate professionalism with ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate sound communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload
