Overview

Food Services Assistant – Mental Health Unit: Permanent part time position at Ramsay Health Care. Join a newly established Mental Health Unit kitchen and work under the Catering Manager in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Customer service
  • Be responsive and sensitive to customer information, their needs and wants
  • Set up, plate, and distribute patient meals and beverages
  • Assist with general kitchen duties as required
  • Undertake cleaning duties throughout the department and at ward level while following HACCP/Food Safety regulations, infection control and hospital standards
  • Dishwashing/pot washing
  • Knowledge of special diets and allergies (training provided)
  • Menu input (Chefmax) duties (training provided)
About You

To excel in this position, we seek a proactive and enthusiastic team member with a genuine enthusiasm for catering services. Previous experience in a comparable food service environment, particularly within a clinical setting, is highly valued.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience in a hospital or hospitality environment
  • Previous customer service experience essential
  • Certificate II or Certificate III in Hospitality (desirable)
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
Remuneration

Base hourly rate of $ superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

Shifts & Rostering
  • Successful candidates must have the ability to work shifts across a 14-day rotating roster which may involve weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
  • Shift start times: 06:30, 10:45, 11:00, and 13:30
About The Role

As a member of the Mental Health Unit kitchen team, you will report directly to the Catering Manager and operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within the unit's kitchen.

Requirements
  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
