Your Opportunity

This role will work in the Digital Technologies unit, responsible for directing IT operations and data management to optimise organisational outcomes and enable efficient and effective delivery of information for The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ).

ECQ is a modern and professional statutory authority, seeking a versatile, multi-skilled, and motivated person for the position of Manager ICT Operations. This role reports to the Director and focuses on ensuring high levels of compliance, security, and client satisfaction through ICT services and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Digital technologies are currently undergoing changes to leverage technical expertise and programs of work. This role offers a significant opportunity to create a high-performance team across key ICT services.

Your Contribution
  • Lead and manage the ICT Operations team to meet ECQ's operational objectives, using budgets and resources efficiently, and providing high service levels.
  • Plan, design, direct, and coordinate ICT activities aligned with ECQ's ICT policies and strategies, providing leadership and support to the ICT Operations team.
  • Promote high service levels through project, change, and risk management processes.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and outsourced staff, including ICT licensing and support contracts.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, balancing expectations and promoting trust and reliability in services.
  • Coordinate with decision-makers to identify, recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions, and contribute to strategic planning for technology and service delivery.
  • Build collaborative relationships within ECQ and externally.
  • Identify opportunities for value, synergies, and innovation, and recommend improvements supported by business cases.
  • Contribute to creating an ICT roadmap aligned with government policies and future requirements.
  • Drive innovation, efficiency, and productivity, fostering a supportive culture for staff.
  • Support team cohesion, wellbeing, and capability, fostering a positive environment.
  • Uphold ECQ and Queensland Government values at all levels.
