Job Description: The Opportunity — When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life? It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Queanbeyan area.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.
• Are passionate about providing an excellent service.
• Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Don't sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• An Open class Australian Driver\'s Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).
• WWVP

The Role

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
