Your new company :

Is a successful international developer. They develop and operate a range of renewables platforms including batteries, offshore and onshore wind farms, solar, waste-to-energy, bioenergy, and hybrid systems.

Your new role :

The role is responsible for steering the strategic direction to deliver community, regional, and First Nations engagement. You will work, review, and implement the business's community engagement framework to effectively demonstrate our client's commitment to engagement. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Develop and implement a stakeholder management and engagement strategy, identifying stakeholder risks and opportunities for clients.
  2. Develop and implement best practices for First Nations engagement and opportunities.
  3. Work with various stakeholders to deliver lasting social and economic benefits to regional and First Nation communities.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure smooth project progress.
  5. Lead working groups and lobbying activities with authorities and local associations.
  6. Identify, analyze, liaise, document, and negotiate with stakeholders including government bodies, media, and local organizations.
  7. Maintain an overview of all national and local policy decisions and communications that may impact business and client projects, ensuring stakeholder engagement complies with legal requirements.
  8. Monitor and pre-empt issues with stakeholders and determine mitigation strategies.
  9. Collaborate with the project team and report to the board.

Who you are :

Experience with complex stakeholder requirements, particularly around environmental impacts of renewable energy projects, with government liaison and First Nations experience. Utility-scale wind, solar, or BESS backgrounds are ideal; energy generation infrastructure experience is also considered. You may also have:

  1. Experience in developing and managing community development programs and initiatives.
  2. Cultural heritage and indigenous engagement experience.
  3. Familiarity with project management practices.
